Credit reports are not all the same. Some are easier to read than others, and this difference in clarity can have a big impact on your credit repair effort. When it comes to credit repair you should give yourself every advantage you can.
AnnualCreditReport.com
The 2003 FACTA amendment to the Fair Credit Reporting Act mandated that Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax provide a free credit report one time per year to consumers. The website created for the purpose of making these free reports available is AnnualCreditReport.com. Although we love the spirit of FACTA and applaud the great benefit that so many consumers have received from this legislation, we are sorry to say that these reports are not optimally conducive to effective proof reading for credit repair purposes. These free reports are each in their own unique format and relatively lacking in clarity. This is not a major obstacle for someone trained to decipher credit data, but for most people it would handicap their effort from the outset.
Get a Nice Tri-Merged Report
For credit repair purposes a well designed tri-merged report is a much better option. All three of the credit bureaus offer these reports which include all data from all three of the bureaus. These reports are designed to be user friendly and easy to read. Once you see a well designed tri-merged report you will understand. The difference is night and day. Your credit is important; give yourself every little edge you can.
